Sarala Birla University Admission 2024: Fees, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

SBU offers the two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) under the School of Commerce and Management. During the third semester, students get the option to choose any two specialization areas as Major and Minor: Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource.

SBU Ranchi MBA Eligibility

• MBA Applicants should have three-year graduation from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for reserved category candidates).
• They should also have a valid CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT score.
• Candidates who have not taken any of the above-mentioned entrance tests must appear for the SBU Entrance Test.

Selection Procedure

MBA Admission is on the basis of academic merit and performance in the entrance test.

Sushila Birla University offers four Year-B.Tech Degree under the School of Engineering and Technology in five different specialization options: 

• Computer Science & Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering. 

SBU also offers options of lateral entry into the second year B.Tech degree to eligible candidates.

SBU Ranchi B.Tech Eligibility

B.Tech applicants should have scored a minimum aggregate of 45% in 10+2 with Physics and Maths as compulsory and either one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject as optional subjects.

Diploma holder in relevant discipline with minimum 45% score.Or completed B.Sc. Degree with minimum 45% score and studied Math in the 10+2 level will be eligible for admission to B.Tech Lateral Entry.

SBU Ranchi B.Tech Selection Criteria

• Students should have also qualified either a National/ State-level entrance test.
• Candidates who have not undertaken any of the afore-mentioned entrance tests are required to appear for the SBU Entrance Test in order to be considered eligible for admission.
• Selection for admission into B.Tech is done by SBU on the basis of merit in qualifying exam and entrance test score.

SBU, under its School of Engineering and Technology also offers the three-year Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) program.

SBU Ranchi BCA Eligibility

Candidates who have completed Senior Secondary Examination with English as one of the subjects and scored a minimum aggregate of 40% (35% for reserved category candidates) are eligible to apply for BCA at SBU.

Selection Procedure

BCA applicants are not required to appear for any entrance test. Admission is on the basis of academic merit.

• Candidates can also download the application form from the website and submit the same physically at the SBU campus along with relevant documents.

Candidates who have completed Senior Secondary Examination with English as one of the subjects and scored a minimum aggregate of 40% (35% for reserved category candidates) are eligible to apply for BBA/ BBA Capital Markets at SBU.

Selection Procedure

BBA/ BBA Capital Markets applicants are not required to appear for any entrance test. Admission is on the basis of academic merit.

The three-year Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) – Accounts Honors program is offered under the School of Commerce and Management.

SBU Ranchi B.Com (H) Eligibility

B.Com (H) applicants should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% in Senior Secondary with Economics/ Maths/ Statistics and English as subjects (45% for reserved category candidates).

Selection Procedure

SBU offers the three-year Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) English Honors program at the undergraduate level under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

SBU Ranchi B.A. (H) English Eligibility

Candidates who have completed Senior Secondary Examination with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for reserved category candidates) are eligible to apply for B.A. (H) English at SBU.

The three-year Bachelor of Yoga and Naturopathy is a unique program developed by SBU in alignment with the UGC-CBCS scheme. The program is offered through the School of Yoga and Naturopathy. Candidates who wish to pursue a shorter duration program in the said field can opt to pursue the one-year Diploma in Yoga and Physical Trainer program soon after qualifying senior secondary level examination.[18]

Eligibility

Candidates who have completed Senior Secondary Examination are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Yoga and Naturopathy program at SBU.

Selection Procedure

Bachelor of Yoga and Naturopathy applicants are not required to appear for any entrance test. Admission is on the basis of academic merit.

Under the School of Yoga and Naturopathy, SBU offers the two-year Master of Yoga and Naturopathy at the postgraduate level. Graduates having a PG Diploma in Yoga will be considered eligible for lateral entry into the second year/ third semester of the Master’s program.[20]

Candidates who have completed Graduation or equivalent in any discipline are eligible to apply for Master of Yoga and Naturopathy at SBU.

SBU Ranchi Diploma Engineering Eligibility

The basic eligibility for admission is passed in 10th or Secondary Examination with a 35% score in aggregate. For such candidates, they should have qualified the State-level Polytechnic Entrance Test/ SBU Entrance Test.

Candidates who fulfill either of the following conditions are eligible to apply for a Lateral Entry into the second year of Diploma Engineering.

Class 12th with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory and Mathematics/ Biology as optional subjects. Or 12th Science (with Mathematics)/ 12th Science with Vocational/ 12th Science with Technical. Or 10th followed by 2 years of ITI Training in relevant discipline.

Selection Criteria

Selection for admission into Engineering Diploma is done by a valid score in State-level Polytechnic Entrance Test/ SBU Entrance Test.
