In the Communication Studies - Media Studies program at Oglethorpe University - International Study Centre the curriculum includes courses in topics such as public speaking, journalism, business communication, persuasive writing, and broadcast and electronic media.
The program encourages students to understand messages, audiences and media as shaped by social, historical, political, economic and cultural conditions. Students have the opportunity to receive hands-on experience in a communication field of their choice through an internship. - Pursue a career in corporate or not-for-profit communications, advertising and marketing, journalism, public relations, editing and publishing, or even politics or law (both fields which rely heavily on being a great speaker and talented communicator).
- Build on your mind-expanding experiences at Oglethorpe and enroll in a graduate program in communication, journalism, or law. Some of our recent students are now furthering their education at Columbia Journalism School, DePaul University, Georgia State University, Goldsmiths University of London, University of South Carolina, and more.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other education completed
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited agency like SpanTran
- Submit a letter of recommendation from counselor or teacher
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in ibt; 550 in PBT; 213 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 105
