Florida State University: Valuable Education at an Affordable Cost

A
9.0 /10

The school is very cost-effective, and they accepted the credits I already earned. The World War 2 institute at FSU is one of the largest and most interesting collections held on any campus, and given the actual ties the city has to this era, it provides a greater environment for learning about the subject matter.

Course Curriculum :

It is very heavy in reading but not unmanageable.

Exams :

I received an SAT score of 1400, the average admission score ranged between 1200 and 1490. I received an ACT score of 28, but I did not report it. The typical accepted ACT score is a 29 or higher. The GRE test is required for graduate programs, but it is not emphasized as the greatest factor in acceptance.

Placement :

There are plenty of resources for finding jobs and opportunities, but it is up to you to reach out for this assistance through the career center. Organizations such as the CIA offer roles to graduating students within my field.

Internship :

On campus jobs in retail and food service are not difficult to find, but internships within the departments are more coveted. Very few are paid internships, and many people compete for the same positions because they are facilitated through an online platform.

Events :

Homecoming is the largest celebration on campus, football is an important part of the culture but it is also a celebration of inclusivity and the schools history.

Fees :

International scholarships are available, but in state students pay a much more affordable tuition. Florida students who are eligible for the bright futures scholarship have between 75 and 100 percent of their tuition covered for all four years of their education. In addition to financial aid from FAFSA, minimal loans are required to continue education here.

Examination Structure :

Most exams are essay format.

Faculty :

The professors are very helpful and informative, and the class sizes tend to be on the smaller side. There is only one advisor however, for all students in the program, which makes specified advise harder to reach.

Hostel :

On campus housing is about the same cost as off campus when considering the total cost of rent and utilities, but it is much more convenient for students without a means of transportation. The bus system for nearby apartments is very reliable to and from campus, but traveling beyond the small nexus of campus is difficult if you cannot drive. However, the campus life is very active and walkable.
