Sarah Review at University Of Texas [UTA], Arlington | Collegedunia

An Honest UTA Review.

I wanted to move back to Texas to get a fresh start by myself. The University of Texas at Arlington just seemed like the right place to be. It was diverse, not a party school, and it was close to where I lived when I was young.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is great, I have so far had a great experience at UTA. UTA has a lot of resources to go to if you don't understand something; like office hours, free tutoring, study groups, and the library.

Exams :

I took the ACT, however, UTA did not need it because I was the first quarter of my class. I also took the TSI which is what every person needs to take to go to a college in Texas.

Placement :

Jobs at UTA are easy to come by, and getting a job in the DFW area, in general, is pretty easy to do. Especially with the career development center helping out any student associated with The University of Texas at Arlington.

Internship :

I am not too sure, UTA does have a career development center to get internships around the DFW area though. I have not done an internship yet. An alumnus can go to the career development center too to try to find a job suited for them.

Events :

The University of Texas at Arlington is such a diverse set of students. We celebrate cultures all over the world and we have events to donate clothes, meet new students, events to support the sports at UTA. We also do homecoming to support UTA in all.

Fees :

Tuition was just one fee, and then there is room and board fee if you decide to live in a dorm/apartment on UTA grounds. If you do live on UTA grounds then you also have to get a meal plan which is really expensive.

Scholarship :

I received a scholarship for $2,000 a year and UTA also waived mine out of state tuition fee (I'm from Florida). I did have to get financial aid, but I just had to fill out the forms and then give them proof of my mom's income or tax returns.

Examination Structure :

Each exam is structured to the course lessons and teachers choice. Except for math (from my experience). Math finals are taken on a Saturday and every exam from every professor is the same. The other subjects like physics, finance, or speech are made by the professor.

Faculty :

The University of Texas at Arlington faculty is so driven to make the university better. I have had no bad experiences with anyone related to working at the university.

Hostel :

I currently live on campus at an apartment. I wish I did not though. It is not the university's fault as to why my apartment complex is so bad because my apartment is privately owned. If anyone is looking at apartments I would suggest the Arlie. If you are looking for a dorm, Arlington Hall.
