Students will gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a wide range of careers in science, research, education, health and other fields.
Inside and outside the classroom, they will learn to think independently and work collaboratively.
If students are interested in pursuing a career in education, the Department of Biological Sciences also partners with the College of Education to award teaching degrees.
The B.S. in Biological Sciences major offers students a structured curriculum, with more of an emphasis on science- and math-focused courses. As they gain a strong foundation of knowledge in biological science theories and practices, they will choose one of the following concentrations:
- cell and molecular biology
- ecology and evolution
- integrative biology
- medicine and health
- microbiology and biotechnology
- neuroscience
- physiology

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
Students are required to maintain at least a 2.0 overall GPA.

Language Requirments:

Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.

International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
