DePaul University is a private research university located in Chicago, Illinois. It is the largest Catholic university in the United States in terms of enrolment. DePaul University has 2 campuses- in Chicago in Lincoln Park and the Loop. DePaul University is ranked #127 in National Universities by US News 2022.

DePaul's Driehaus College of Business, founded in 1912, is one of the ten oldest business schools in the United States. DePaul University offers 130 undergraduate and 75+ graduate programs to its students. The institute currently has nearly 21,670 students enrolled across its diverse array of undergraduate and graduate programs. Out of which 6% are international students.

To secure admission at DePaul University, international students are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for the UG program which is equivalent to 77-79%. For PG programs the minimum requirement for admission is GPA of 3-3.5 i.e ~80-86%. The Cost of attendance at DePaul is around 38.87 lakhs for UG and  49.07 lakhs for PG programs. 

DePaul University Campus

DePaul University has 2 campuses located in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. One campus is located in Chicago’s Business District while the other one is in Lincoln Park. The 2 campuses are called the Loop Campus and the Lincoln Park Campus.

Apart from academic life, athletics also plays an important role in the student’s life, which is why DePaul is a member of the Big East Conference, well known for Basketball. The students also have an interfraternity council, Panhellenic Council, and Greek Council that have various extracurricular student activities and organize various philanthropic events. 

The Lincoln Park Campus is 36 acres and has a lot of housing options available to the students. It also has the Schmitt Academic Center, John T. Richardson Library, the DePaul Art Museum, Theatre School Building, and many more.  The Loop Campus has an 11-floor building situated close to the Art Institute of Chicago.

Nearly 72% of the freshmen reside in on-campus accommodation facilities provided by the institute. There are 11 residence halls and apartments on the Lincoln Park campus which are fully furnished. The freshman students are housed at the residence halls on the Lincoln Park campus while transfer or returning students are housed at the apartments on the same campus.

Off-Campus Housing

There are options available for off-campus housing for international students to study in the US. They can opt for apartment listings that are put on the college website. Such listings can range from 889 to 12,750 USD depending on the size, location, number of rooms, roommates, etc.

Facilities like movers, rental furniture, and cable internet reps are also provided. Such a website also has a portal to search for roommates that study within the university. Students opting for off-campus housing options are urged to attend the Off-Campus Housing Fairs if possible.

DePaul University Programs

DePaul University offers undergraduate as well as graduate courses for international students through its 10 schools or colleges. It offers over 130 undergraduate majors and over 175 graduate programs.

DePaul University Scholarships

International students are not eligible for need-based scholarships or Federal Student Aid. Academic scholarships for international students are, however, provided by the institute ranging from USD 10,000- USD 24,000 per year, and can be availed for up to 3 years.

  • Such scholarships require no separate application and the students are automatically considered as they apply for the tuition.

Work Study at DePaul University

The Federal Work-Study Program is a government-financed, need-based part-time job program. Their salary are paid jointly by the federal government and DePaul. The federal work-study eligibility is determined by students' financial needs. Payments are paid directly to you for hours worked; wages from this program are not added to your tuition account.

Your hourly income will be determined by the demands of your job and university pay schedules, but it will not be less than the federal minimum wage. Based on their FAFSA and existing financial aid offers, certain students are eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program. Although you are not required to be Federal Work Study-eligible to work on campus, some university positions are primarily for students who are eligible for Federal Work Study.

DePaul University Placements

The University offers placement opportunities to the students after placement tests in various subjects such as math, chemistry, and various languages. Their career outcome is 93% for the graduates of the year 2018, the highest being in the field of communication with a percentage of 96%.

Over 90% of the students in the Class of 2017 got employed or enrolled for further studies. Nearly 80% of the undergraduates got employed while 89% of the graduates get employed in 2017. The average salary of an alumni is USD 53,500. The university students can make use of the services offered by the Career Centre to build a suitable and stable career.
