Students apply their passion for teaching and become an advocate for young people with a Secondary Education MA/MEd from DePaul. High school teachers are not only subject matter experts, but they also offer much more as teacher-leaders who transform student lives. In this program, they will use their expertise to present engaging and interactive methods to motivate students and ignite their desire to learn.
Students have the option to pursue an initial Illinois Teaching License (PEL) with a Secondary Education (grades 5–12) endorsement, or if they are already a licensed teacher, they can add a Secondary Education (grades 5–12) endorsement to your PEL. Choose from one of the following content areas:

- Environmental Science

- Mathematics
- Physics
- Social Sciences
- Visual Arts

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students should have completed a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent from a recognized university.
Students require a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Language Requirments:

Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.

International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
