As one of the pioneering programs of its kind, Jazz Studies at Capital places a strong emphasis on active learning — experiences both in and out of the classroom — and that includes improvisation and composition. We combine this intensive study of jazz and contemporary music with the opportunity to play in numerous ensembles, from Big Band to the Rock Ensemble to MIDI.
