Bachelor of Science [B.S] (Environmental Geoscience)
Field of Study:
$18,263/Yr
The School of Geology and Geological Engineering offers several undergraduate degrees in earth and engineering science. In addition to four-year degrees, we also offer a minor geology and a teaching certification in geology.
Although not an engineering degree, graduates with a B.S. in Environmental Geoscience are qualified to work in various environmental fields, including field monitoring, remediation of contaminated sites, evaluation of natural hazards, site selection, waste disposal, and water resources. Continuing at the graduate level at UND or other institutions is another option, with opportunities to branch into fields such as geography, ecology, hydrology, and environmental policy. The program includes electives in biology, chemistry, geological engineering, law, and Earth system science. Completion of a summer geology field course, although strongly recommended, is not required for graduation.
