Bob Jones University International Student Admissions

The university accepts applications on a rolling basis from international students aspiring to study in the USA. The decision process takes a maximum of 8 weeks. International applicants must submit a credential evaluation report from World Education Services (WES).

There is no application fee but applicants are required to submit a reservation fee of 250 USD. Early applications are given preference in granting scholarships as well.

If students are unable to demonstrate the TOEFL score criteria or if the applicant’s English-language skills are lacking, they can get eligible for a unique course given by BJU called the Bridge to College English (BCE). The BCE program is a one-semester (15-week) English course provided during the first semester of each year (August-December).

US Study Visa Process

The university provides a Form I-20 after the applicant is accepted by the Admission Committee. After the student’s admission file is complete, the I-20 is issued and mailed through DHL Express at the student’s cost to ensure safe and timely delivery. DHL fees are charged to the student’s school billing account. A SEVIS I-901 fee of 350 USD is required to be paid and afterward, the student needs to make an appointment at a US Consular office to get a visa. Students may have to wait several weeks for a visa interview to be scheduled and it may take additional time to get the visa after the interview. Students should apply for a suitable study visa to the USA.

SAT/ACT college codes are 5065 and 3836 respectively. The TOEFL code is also 5065.

How do I submit the recommendation letters?

Students are required to tell their references about BJU contacting them electronically to request a personal character recommendation. Students can also print the PDF recommendation forms on their portal and then ask the recommenders to complete and submit the forms by email.

Can I upload the test scores on my application also?

The test score report of all required tests must be sent directly from the testing center. They can’t be uploaded on the online application or portal.

Can I submit TOEFL iBT home-edition test scores?

No. Home-edition TOEFL scores are not considered to confirm the English language proficiency of the applicant.

What documents are required to complete the financial affidavit?

Applicants should include a bank statement/letter demonstrating factual funds available in the account that meet or surpass the minimum cost necessary for the applicant’s first year of study.

Is English scores waiver available for international applicants?

English proficiency waiver is only available for native English-speaking countries. Applicants from non-native English speaking countries are mandated to submit English test scores. TOEFL is preferred.

Overview

The amount of financial aid I received was phenomenal (new rules as of 2017 changed this.) Additionally, my parents are alumni of my university. I also had an extended family located within 3 hours of my school.

Any fees are built into your tuition. Depending on the program of study, the program fees vary. For example, nursing program fees are more than history program fees. Tuition payments are split into 8 payments (4 a semester.)
