Marshall University is a public research university which is located in Huntington, West Virginia. The University has a total of nine undergraduate colleges. The institute was founded in 1837 and is accredited by Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. - The University has over 395 student athletes. Marshall University’s Sports Team is named as ‘The Herd’ holds up itself in the Sports field and gives men and women the equal opportunity to participate.

Marshall University Residence
- Marshall University offers nine residence halls for Undergraduate students and residential apartments for Graduate students. The students are admitted on a first come first serve basis.
- There are 3 freshman halls, 6 upper class halls and 1 residential apartment community for graduate students.
- All students under the age of 21 are required to stay on-campus. The Dining Services of the University are managed by Sodexo.
- All residence halls have a kitchen, updated range, sink, refrigerator, laundry room, air conditioning, internet, bed, mattress, desk, chair, dresser and closet.

Academic Requirements: An overall high school GPA of at least a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and a Composite score of at least 19 on the ACT or SAT equivalent or an overall GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and Composite score of at least 16 on the ACT or SAT equivalent.
Transcripts must be in English and original language and contain ALL secondary school, college or university academic credits and grades. The transcripts must be sent directly to the MU International Admissions Office by the institution that you attended. Additional or alternate admission credentials may be accepted at the discretion of the MU International Admissions Office depending on the applicant’s country of origin.
English Proficiency Test Scores
Proof of your proficiency in English may be certified by submitting one of the following (tests taken more than two (2) years prior to the date submitted cannot be accepted):
- The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – TOEFL iBT score 61 (internet based) for undergraduate study (Marshall University’s ETS Code: 5396)
- Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) – The minimum acceptable score is 79% for undergraduate study.
- A minimum score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for undergraduate study.
- SAT – Prior to March 2016 minimum Verbal score 450, After March 2016 Verbal score 480
- ACT – minimum sub scores of 18 in English and in Reading
- Cambridge English score of 169 or higher
- Successful completion of an English as a Second Language (ESL) program approved by Marshall University’s Admissions Office
- Successful completion of the Marshall English Language Institute Academic Preparatory I
- Completion of ENG 160, or ENG 101A with minimum C grade

Overview:
I chose Marshall because when I stepped foot on campus I knew I was home. I was interested in their Forensics program since it is such a fantastic program. Four years later and I still don't regret my decision.
Fees:
We have meal plans that can be purchased and they offer FLEX and HERDPOINTS which can be used to pay for food on campus. The Rec center comes with tuition but if you want to take extra rec classes like self-defense or advanced yoga.
