The Industrial and Systems Engineering program is a combination of Industrial Engineering and Systems Engineering. Industrial engineering is concerned with the design, improvement, and implementation of integrated processes of people, processes, information, materials, management, and equipment. IE’s draw upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences combined with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, to specify, predict, and evaluate processes and systems.

Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary and structured approach to designing and deploying successful systems to blends engineering, systems thinking, and management topics. Systems engineering deals with work processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools while ensures that all likely aspects of a project or system are considered, and integrated into a whole.
- Graduates of industrial & systems engineering will:
- Demonstrate a balance of industrial and systems engineering knowledge to meet industry expectations for design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, machines, materials, information, energy, and logistics.
- Practice critical thinking to solve problems, communicate effectively, and adapt to changes.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Graduation from high school with a GPA of 2.5 with qualifying test scores-or graduation from high school with a GPA of 2.6 without test scores(If educated outside of the United States, the required official evaluation must indicate GPA)
- Official transcripts of ALL student's high school or post-secondary records. English evaluations of all foreign documents will be needed. Students must have their foreign transcripts evaluated by one of the following credential evaluation services found at naces.org.
- Students High School transcript will need to have a document-by-document evaluation including GPA.
- Students College/University transcript will need to have a course-by-course evaluation.
- Results from your Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT).
- International students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
- Completion of the first two levels of English Composition college-level courses with a “C” or higher at an accredited American institution.
- Successful completion through Level Six of the Kennesaw State University Intensive English Program.
