Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Admission to degree programs in the School of Art and Design is contingent upon portfolio review and acceptance by the department.
- The majority of the portfolio should consist of hand-made work.
Please limit the inclusion of digital media to just a few pieces. - Drawings are the most important part of the portfolio.
- Please include examples of drawing done from the direct observation of live, three-dimensional situations. These can include figure drawings, object studies, still-lifes, and landscapes.
- Two-dimensional references (drawings done from photos) can be included in a portfolio but should be kept to a minimum.
- One (1) self-portrait from life made viewing yourself in a mirror using traditional, non-electronic media.
- Nine (9) of student's best works showing at least two (2) different media. These may include but are not limited to the following: 2D Design, Book Arts, Ceramics, Computer Illustration, Craft, Digital Media, Drawing, Fiber Arts, Graphic Design, Metalsmithing, Mixed Media, Painting, Performance Art, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Video.
- International students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
