Master of Science [M.S] [Microbiology] From Miami University

Academic Eligibility:

• Successful applicants with degrees from institutions in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or western Europe will have completed a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences/biochemistry, including coursework in biochemistry and some experience in bacteriology, virology, and/or immunology
• Additionally, experience in biological research, either as an undergraduate, as a graduate student seeking a master’s degree, or in an employment situation is beneficial to your application, though it is not required.
• Successful applicants with degrees from institutions located elsewhere in the world will most likely have completed a master’s degree in the biological sciences/biochemistry, including coursework in biochemistry and some experience in bacteriology, virology, and/or immunology. Coursework and experience that are principally clinical in nature are not likely to constitute adequate preparation for the Graduate Program in Microbiology at Miami University.
• Official GRE scores are optional but are strongly encouraged for applicants who do not have a degree from a U.S. institution.
• A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 out of 4.00

Indian Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

• International students hailing from non-English speaking countries must submit proof of English proficiency. Students may provide score reports of TOEFL/IELTS/… or any equivalent test with at least a minimum score as per program guidelines to prove English proficiency.
• In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Miami is accepting the Duolingo English Test for the 2021-2022 application cycle as an alternative to the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE test. Miami’s Duolingo English Test scores must include the subscores. If students took the test prior to July 15, 2019, they will need to retake the test.
