The overall goal of the program is to help our students develop a deeper understanding of their roles as theatre artists by studying and applying theory and criticism, history, and literature to their work as actors, directors, designers, dramaturges, or scholars. We emphasize the interaction between scholarship and production. All of our students work in multiple disciplines in preparation for Ph.D. work or careers in professional, academic, or community theatres.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree or masters degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated course by course from WES, ECE or Educational Perspectives
- Submit GRE scores of 144 in verbal , 148 in quantitative and GMAT score of 500
- Submit a resume outlining educational background, employment history, research experience
- Submit a statement of purpose in 750 words outlining motivation to pursue graduate education, career goals and relevant work experience
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; 550 in PBT
- IELTS; minimum 6.5
- PTE: minimum 53
- Duolingo: minimum 105
