The objective of the program is to enhance the mathematical training of secondary teachers and to equip such teachers with a broad and modern background in mathematics.

As a graduate, the student will have the:

Possession of a bachelor?s degree and a secondary teaching certificate in Mathematics.

Completion of a program of study approved by the Graduate Committee of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Dean of the Graduate School.

Completion of a minimum of 30 credits beyond the bachelor?s degree in courses numbered 5500 or above.

Approval of semester papers as required by the Graduate Committee of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

Satisfactory performance on comprehensive written and oral examinations on the student?s program of study.?

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

Applicants must hold a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
Submit official transcripts of all previous education
Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0
If GPA is less than 3.0 then scores of GRE (minimum 40^th percentile in Verbal) and MAT (45^th percentile) is required
Submit English Language Proficiency scores

English Langauge Proficiency:

TOEFL: minimum 80 (minimum 20 in all subscores) in iBT; minimum 550 in PBT; minimum 213 in CBT
IELTS: minimum 6.5 overall
