San Francisco State University Admission Deadlines

Cal State Apply is accepting applications for Spring 2023. Students must first look out for the majors which are open or closed before applying. Also, the Fall 2023 application will open on October 1.

San Francisco State University Undergraduate Admissions

San Francisco State University offers bachelor’s degrees in 72 academic areas with additional 39 areas of concentration. Securing good grades is a priority requirement for admission to SFSU. International students can submit the academic transcripts electronically through a few select vendors.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements: 

• 12 years of primary-secondary education (secondary/high school curriculum)
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 (73-76%) out of 4.0, or B- average in academic courses after the 9th grade
• High school transcripts equivalent to US high school
• English language proficiency requirements 
• Financial Affidavit Form
• Proof of finances
• Passport copy 

Note: 

• All the transcripts must be sent directly from the student’s school or institution.
• San Francisco State accepts electronic transcripts from vendors like eTranscript California, Speede, Parchment, Naviance, Credential Solutions, National Student Clearinghouse, e-SCRIP, and Joint Service Transcripts (Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard).

TOEFL Requirements

US Student Visa Application Process

International students need an F-1 or J-1 US student visa to apply for admission to San Francisco State University. Following is the step-by-step visa application process:

• Students need the acceptance letter from San Francisco State University
• International applicants will be issued Form I-20 from the university
• Applicants will need to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20:
  • Copy of passport
  • Proof of financial support
  • Bank statement
  • Sponsor letter, if applicable
  • Certificate of immunization
• Complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.

San Francisco State University Admission Decisions

Candidates can track the status of their applications online. Applicants will receive their San Francisco State University Identification Number within two to four weeks of submitting their application. The candidates will be notified of the consequences if accepted or denied admission at San Francisco State University.

After successfully submitting all the required documents, applicants will receive an application receipt notice. They will start receiving notifications starting November 1 for Fall intake and August 15 in the case of Spring intake.
