  • The M.Sc in B.E. program capitalizes on USF’s strengths in Engineering and in the Health Sciences and collaborations with affiliate institutions, including the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, the James Haley Veterans Administration Hospital, and Tampa General Hospital, to develop and commercialize new technologies that spawn the growth of biomedical companies throughout the region and catalyze scientific discoveries that lead to better health care and improved quality of life. 
  • The student works with an advisor to develop a graduate Major that draws on courses from engineering, medicine, public health, and the life sciences.
  • Students in the Major may choose to  specialize in one of several nationally recognized areas of biomedical engineering strength at USF, including:

    • Bioelectronics
    • Cell and Tissue Engineering
    • Molecular Medicine
    • Drug and Gene Delivery
    • Neuroengineering
    • Rehabilitation Engineering
  • The MSc in Biomedical Engineering program consists of 30 credits.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, or Science or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • A GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

  • Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly ranked university in India.
  • Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
