UW-Stevens Point offers the?pre-nursing?program that can satisfy prerequisites to an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Students apply to, and upon acceptance, attend another institution to become a nurse. In addition, a?RN to BSN completion program?designed for associate degree or diploma registered nurses (RNs) is available at UW-Stevens Point. UW-Stevens Point students take nursing courses either online from BSN@Home or on campus in face-to-face or combined face-to-face/online formats, allowing for greater flexibility and program accessibility. UW-Stevens Point offers a quality curriculum that puts graduates on pace to function more broadly in their chosen area of practice.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit original copies of academic records from each high school, college or university attended whether or not a degree, certificate or diploma was earned
- The university considers various factors like class rank, GPA or equivalent, rigor of high school courses, trend in academic courses over time
- Submit a personal statement of between 200-500 words showing information regarding academic performance, co-curricular activities, future plans for study and plan of co-curricular involvement at the university
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Langauge Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 78 in iBT with minimum scores of 17 in speaking and writing
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0 with no section below 5.5
- PTE: minimum score of 52
- SAT: minimum 530 in evidence based reading and writing
- ACT: English and reading section scores of minimum 22
