The department offers majors in?philosophy, philosophy with a concentration in environmental ethics and philosophy with a concentration in?religious studies, as well as minors in philosophy and religious studies. Philosophy is the systematic study of ideas and issues fundamental to human existence such as the nature of knowledge, reality and goodness. Environmental ethics is the examination of theories addressing how humans ought to interact with the non-human world. Religious studies focuses on the history, beliefs and practices of the world's religions, and more generally, on the roles religion plays in human life and culture.?
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit original copies of academic records from each high school, college or university attended whether or not a degree, certificate or diploma was earned
- The university considers various factors like class rank, GPA or equivalent, rigor of high school courses, trend in academic courses over time
- Submit a personal statement of between 200-500 words showing information regarding academic performance, co-curricular activities, future plans for study and plan of co-curricular involvement at the university
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Langauge Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 78 in iBT with minimum scores of 17 in speaking and writing
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0 with no section below 5.5
- PTE: minimum score of 52
- SAT: minimum 530 in evidence based reading and writing
- ACT: English and reading section scores of minimum 22
