Tuskegee University Campus and Accomodations

Tuskegee University has a student union which orangsises educational, civic, cultural, social, and recreational programs and activities considering faculty, student organizations, individuals, and committees.

  • There are more than 100 student organizations including professional and vocational societies, honor societies, general and worldwide organizations, religious organizations, Greeks, service organizations, and city or state clubs, etc.
  • Student Union advice and aids student organizations and individuals in their programs and events. It helps in conducting seminars, workshops, dialogue sessions, theatrical performances, concerts, movies, games, and some special campus events.
  • In Intramural sports, all students have the chance to participate. Various athletics programs are organized through the Intramural Sports Program. The competition allows participants to improve their physical, mental, and social skills.
  • There is a Student Government Association that acts as a link between students and the rest of the university community. Numerous lectures, concerts, talent shows, parties, etc. are undertaken by SGA.
  • The Tuskegee University Libraries has around 310,000 volumes in all libraries, including bound journals, and more than 1,500 ongoing serial subscriptions for its faculty, staff, and students.
  • Dining facilities are available at campus in various halls. Washington Hall, Tompkins Hall, Austin Grill are some of the on-campus eateries.

Tuskegee University Accomodations

There are 13 residential halls separated for males, females and co-ed basis. The university has a cloud-based service named eRezLife to help students in their housing applications. A Room Reservation Fee of 200 USD is required to be submitted by all students requesting on-campus accommodation. It is non-refundable.

  • Housing application deadlines for Fall are March 30th, October 30th for spring, and March 31th for summer.
  • Freshmen, sophomores, and first-year transfer students with less than 60 hours on their transcript are required to reside on campus and take an on-campus meal plan in the central dining hall.

A limited number of renewable merit scholarships are available to all freshmen who have a strong academic record. There is no separate application for a scholarship. Work While You Study

The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students who need financial assistance. The university allows them to earn money through on-campus employment to help pay for their education. Students are required to submit a driver's license or birth certificate, social security card, and school ID. International students are additionally required to submit their passport copy and work permit. Students are allowed to work twelve (12) hours per week and earn no more than their federal work-study award.
