By 2024, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will require registered dietitians to hold at least a Master's degree. The new Master of Science in Nutrition provides professionals in nutrition and other closely related professional careers an advanced degree with a strong scientific knowledge base focused on gaining proficiency in counseling techniques and the application of nutrition principles in clinical settings. The program also prepares you to apply nutritional knowledge when analyzing human performance and exercise metabolism. The Master of Science in Nutrition provides you with two options, a Clinical Nutrition option and a Sport Nutrition option. Both options address the change in the CDR's entry-level eligibility requirements for dietitians and expands their practice through knowledge gained from this advanced degree.?
Student Learning Outcomes - The graduate with a Master?s of Science degree in Nutrition in the School of Nutrition, Kinesiology and Psychological Sciences will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to:
- Demonstrate the competencies and behaviors required to practice dietetics at an entry-level by integrating biochemical and physiological science knowledge with nutritional evidence-based interventions
- Articulate evidence-based solutions to nutritional issues across the life cycle and to assess nutritional status and evaluate current research.
- Acquire the level of conduct appropriate for professional dietetics practice
- Apply evidence-based guidelines, systematic reviews, scientific literature and participate in nutrition research.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in relevant discipline of which is equivalent of a degree in US
- Students need to submit the official transcripts of previous education to the office and upload unofficial trasncripts on the portal
- A GPA of 3.00 is required in undergraduate degree

- Statement of goals describing why you choose the program and the college and about your background
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in IBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- UCM English proficiency exam: minimum 79 required
