The curriculum includes specialized math courses and introductory study in business, economics, and computer science.
Students will gain a firm grounding in fundamental mathematics before delving into advanced topics like interest theory, risk theory, loss models, and survival functions.
As a student in our hands-on program, they will master the mathematical theory and apply their knowledge to solve real problems in the actuarial industry.
Students will be well prepared to pass preliminary actuarial certification exams and will graduate as a confident and creative problem solvers.
Students will also hone computer programming skills and explore subjects like corporate finance and project management.
Student's rigorous coursework and hands-on practice will put them on track to prepare for the examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).
In addition, WPI offers coursework that satisfies other SOA/CAS requirements, known as Validation by Education Experience (VEE).

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission with a minimum 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 GPA.
Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
Obtain a score of 61 or higher on the PTE English section.
