Through coursework and research students will study four subdisciplines of anthropology:

Archaeology: Explore ancient cultures and learn techniques to analyze their material remains such as tools, paintings, and religious artifacts to interpret their values and way of life.
Biological Anthropology: Examine the evolution of the brain and nervous system to understand human nature, health, mortality, and reproductive behavior.
Linguistics: Investigate the nature of relationships shared between language and culture.
Cultural Anthropology: Focus on contemporary issues such as economics, politics, religion, and art through interviews and observation to create in-depth ethnographies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants with undergraduate majors in anthropology are preferred, and each is expected to have had at least one undergraduate course in each of the four subdisciplines.
Students must achieve and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or GMAT results are required.

Indian Students Eligibility:

Students should submit required official and complete individual mark skeets for each examination attempt, including subsidiary exams.
Photocopies of student's mark sheets are accepted only when they are attested by the University Registrar or Controller of Examinations and placed in a sealed, stamped envelope that is sent directly to the Graduate School.
