Bachelor of Science [B.S] (Software Engineering)
Field of Study:
The?Bachelor of Science in ?is inclusive of computer programming but is concerned with methodologies, techniques, and tools to manage the lifecycle of software. Students will study more than just programming, they will explore:
- Cost effectiveness
- Usability
- Modeling and analysis
- Design
- Reliability
- Quality
- Requirements and testing
- Teamwork
- Project management
The?software engineering curriculum?provides students a solid background in both the theory and practice of all phases in the software engineering process.
You will develop skills employers are looking for including analytical skills, communication skills, computer skills, creativity, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and being detail oriented.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- High school students need to take the American College Test (ACT) and/or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and request that scores be sent to Trine University. Our code numbers are 1250 for the ACT and 1811 for the SAT. NOTE: the writing section of the ACT and SAT are optional.
- Upon graduation from high school, send your official final high school transcript that includes graduation date to admissions. You will also want to submit transcripts for dual credit or other college courses to be reviewed for credit. An applicant for freshman standing who achieves a score of 3, 4, or 5 on the College Entrance Examination Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Examination may be granted credit.
