Southern Oregon University Campus and Accommodation

Living on the campus while attending the institute gives an academically rich and socially supportive experience to the students. Southern Oregon University campus has different important academic buildings such as the Art Building, Ashland Street Cinema, Center for the Visual Arts at SOU, Center for the Visual Arts Galleries, Computer Sciences Building, Digital Media Center (DMC), ECOS Community Garden, Education/Psychology Building, etc.

• The Art Building incorporates the office of the Art Program faculty, a lecture auditorium. Retzlaff Gallery, Thorndike Gallery, Messe Auditorium are some Arts buildings. The university Hanson Library inspires a passion for learning.
• The campus also offers endless numbers of clubs promoting various hobbies, sports and music of different kinds to incorporate students of various societies and identities together and help them live as a family.
• Several sports facilities on campus incorporate basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, track & field, volleyball and wrestling, among others.
• The university has more than 60+ student organizations in which students can get involved and new associations on SOU Presence. It serves as a means for connecting with other students, giving leadership development and opportunities, appreciating diversity, empowering civic engagement, and upgrading your college experience.

Accommodation

SOU provides on-campus accommodation facilities for all students. The university provides on-campus facilities in its four residential halls namely Greensprings, Shasta, Mcloughlin and Madrid. Greensprings has four halls namely Crater Lake, Bear Creek, Applegate, and Deschutes. The four halls revolved around a large lounge. The laundry facilities are concentrated for the whole complex on the first floor.

• Shasta Hall is a part of the Raider Village which highlights a semi-suite-style design with both single and double rooms accessible. This is fundamentally a first-year community, yet open to all students.
• McLoughlin Hall includes a suite design with both single and double rooms accessible. Primarily a community for returning and transfer students, however, open for all students.
• Madrone Hall is for returning or transferring students into SOU. Students should be sophomores standing. First-Year students, which means students within one year of high school graduation, are not qualified for Madrone Hall.

All the rooms are furnished with basic amenities like water, sewer, heat, AC - all but Greensprings, electricity, wired and wireless internet, cable, movie streaming website. The costs of the residence halls with their rooms are given in the table below:

Residential halls also provide meal plans options for their on-campus students. They are selected during the housing application process through University Housing. Meals plans are only available at the 'Hawk'. All applicable meal plans are mentioned below:

• Ashland Plan: 175 USD - 20 Meals (8.75 per meal)
• University Plan: 305 USD - 30 Meals (8.50 per meal) – 50 Raider Cash
• Raider Plan: 595 USD - 65 Meals (8.00 per meal) – 75 Raider Cash
• Raider Cash Plan: 400 USD - 435 Raider Cash
