Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology accept students for the B. Tech. programme based on the Uni-GUAGE exam score AND/OR +2 level marks i.e. appearing for the entrance is optional if you feel your +2 score is good enough to get you selected. How-ever if you appear for the exam the total marks calculated would include 50% of Uni-GUAGE score and 50% of +2 marks. With Uni-GAUGE EMeD Entrance you can apply for B. Tech in Uni-GAUGE member universities.

Application Process
- Candidates must visit the following link: http://pmu.edu/UG_PG_Application.aspx in order to download the application form and the admission prospectus.
- Fill in the application form with complete details carefully.
- Choose to pay the application fee of Rs.600/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PwD) through DD drawn in favour of “The registrar, PMIST” payable at Thanjavur or online.
- Submit the application form and keep the printed copy of the submitted application form.
- Certified copies related to educational qualification, age, community etc. are to be submitted by the candidates.
- Attested copies of certificates duly signed by Gazetted Officers are to be submitted as well.

Eligibility Criteria:
- A pass in 10+2 level examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer science/Biology.
- A minimum percentage of 45% in 10+2 (40% for reserved categories).

Eligibility Criteria (Lateral Entry):
A pass in diploma in the respective Engineering or technology discipline/B. Sc. with Mathematics as one of the subjects in HSC level or in degree level with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for reserved categories).
Selection Process
Selection of the candidates is based on clearing the required cut-off in the Uni-GUAGE entrance exam and normalization of 10+2 marks with 50% weightage given to each.

If you do not wish to appear for the Uni-GUAGE EMeD exam then
You can be selected on the basis of normalized 10+2 level marks. A merit rank list will be prepared. Normalization of marks of 10+2 is done as follows:
50% Mathematics + 25% Physics + 25% Chemistry = 200 marks
Reservation of seats is as per the norms of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.
