Admissions at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) take place in Spring, Fall, and Summer semesters. Applications are processed mainly in three categories, open, limited, and selective. College of New Caledonia Admission Deadlines

The College of New Caledonia offers programs in three intakes and does not have any specific admission deadlines. However, international students are suggested to apply six months before the start date of the program.

Applications for Fall 2023 starts on September 15th. It is recommended that applicants must apply before March 31st if the program has a selective process.

Priority registration for Spring 2023 starts on June 29th.

College of New Caledonia International Student Admissions

Admission to the various programs at the College of New Caledonia is based on three different processes.

  • Open admission – programs do not have a selective admission process or fixed capacity and students are accepted on a “first qualified, first admitted” basis.
  • Limited admission – programs have a limited number of seats for each intake and seats are filled on a “first qualified, first admitted” basis.
  • Selective admission – students are selected for programs based on approved selection criteria that include assessment portfolio submissions, interviews and grade point average. Fulfilling the minimum admission requirement does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

International students can apply for any of the three semesters either through the online application portal or through the offline application process.

  • Scanned documents of original secondary school graduation transcripts or mark sheets accompanied by a notarized, official translation.

English Language Proficiency Test Scores

International students whose native language is other than English must submit proof of English Language proficiency through any of the following English language assessments. The College of New Caledonia usually accepts IELTS or TOEFL iBT test scores but will accept equivalent assessments such as PTE, CAEL along with others. Students who submit Duolingo scores will need to complete an interview before the start of the classes.

Canada Visa for International Students

Students after receiving the letter of acceptance from the College of New Caledonia can apply for a student permit to study in Canada. International students can apply for a Canadian study permit and visa using the Canada Immigration and Citizenship Website. Applicants who live in India, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Pakistan, China, etc. have the option to apply using the Student Direct Stream(SDS) that includes faster processing features (within 20 days).

Upon successfully submitting all the required documents and biometrics the applications are generally processed within 20 days. Applicants will be informed through email and will receive a letter of introduction (POE) after the approval of the visa application. The Canadian student's visa permit is valid for the length of your program plus an extra 90 days as well.

Applicants must submit all the required documents properly as mentioned in the application process as the college can revoke your application if any of your application documents are deemed to be false. The College of New Caledonia processes applications only after submitting all the required documents. After applying, the college assesses your applications and enters your data in the student files and generates a student number. Applicants who meet all the entrance requirements for the program they applied to will be given the offer letter through email within approximately four-six weeks. Students must pay a tuition deposit of $10,000 to the college to accept the offer. Upon paying the required fees students will be provided with a letter of acceptance to apply for a student visa in their home country.
