It had the program I wanted to take. I wanted to do something environmental and I was looking at the other options for environmental degrees and this one fit best. I really like plant and animal biology and this degree seemed to focus on these things.

Course Curriculum

9

It is very applicable and relevant. I enjoyed all my courses and think they are all useful for this degree. I also had a few electives where I could choose any course. I really appreciated this since it gave me opportunities to learn something new.

Faculty

9

The faculty of forestry at UBC is amazing! The advisors are friendly and always willing to help. The professors are extremely knowledgeable and the students are accepting and kind.

Accommodation

Fees

The fees were mostly for the courses but there are additional fees to help support indigenous rights and sexual assault support center services.

Scholarship

Yes, I applied for several online scholarships as well as in school scholarships. Most of them involved filling out a form explaining your contributions to the community and why you deserved this scholarship.

Examination Structure

The exam structure varies with the course and professor. It is normally multiple choice, multiple answers, short answer, long answer, and occasionally an essay. There is a reasonable amount of time given.
