I came to Guelph because the campus was so small compared to many other schools I toured. When I visitors for the first time, I loved how the campus felt like a community that fully supported each other, compared to other schools that are all about competition.
Course Curriculum :
It's okay but doesn't exactly teach us what we need to know for work. After having a coop term I felt that I learned more than was taught in the past two years. I also find that there is a big jump in difficulty for some courses, which makes the end of the second year incredibly difficult and intimidating.
Fees :
Many fees are frustrating to have to pay. For example, we have to pay a fee for the gym but that doesn't give us even close to decent access to the gym and the fee is mandatory. We also have to pay money for a bunch of school clubs that add up to a lot of money that most students don't have an excess of.
Examination Structure :
The exam structure varies depending on the course being taken. But almost all exams are in person and are a mix of short answer, long answer, multiple-choice and some true or false. The multiple-choice and true or false are filled out on scantron cards as well.
Faculty :
Most of the faculty are great, some are very rude in person and super nice during lectures. Which makes it hard to approach them if I have any questions or concerns.
