This program offers students breadth in relation to our department’s integrative research themes while grounding students in the research methods of their primary subfield (archaeological, biological, or cultural anthropology).
The MA program introduces students to our department's unique thematic foci and requires them to conduct a major, independent research project leading to a thesis.
As a discipline that transcends conventional academic boundaries between the sciences and the humanities, students will find courses that connect with their interests and expand horizons, along with opportunities to engage in hands-on learning and ongoing research in our department.
The MA program consists of a minimum of 15 units.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
A grade point average of 6.0/9.0 (B+) in the work of the last two years (30 units) leading to the bachelor’s degree.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete a Bachelor’s (4 years) degree in Anthropology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
The minimum grade score for a degree should be 7/10 (60%), first class.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
