- Educational Leadership provides a program of preparation for aspiring and practicing school leaders. Grounded in the rich educational leadership literature supplemented by extensive faculty expertise and experience, the program provides a balance of research, policy, and practice.
- This program will have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of successful leaders as outlined in the Leadership Standards for BC Principals and Vice-Principals. These competencies are central to formal and informal leadership in schools.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Following are the academic requirements of the program:
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree with a cumulative grade point average of a B grade in the final two years.
- Official transcripts indicating completion of a Bachelor of Education degree with a cumulative grade point average of B grade in the final two years.
- Students whose previous degree was obtained in a country where English is not the primary/official language and from a university where English was not the language of instruction must meet one of VIU’s English Language requirements for Graduate Programs.
- Students with a UG degree other than a Bachelor of Education must have an official transcript indicating completion of a UG degree with a cumulative grade point average of a B grade in the final two years.
- Students must have two current confidential assessment reports.

Required Document List
Following are the required documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
- Online application form: Students have to submit an online application form at the official website.
- All post-secondary transcripts: Students have to submit all official documents containing student’s grades. Thus, post-secondary transcripts refer to undergraduate, graduate, medical school, law school, or other higher education transcripts.
- Electronic Official transcripts: Submit copies of official transcripts from post-secondary institutions attended in PDF format.
- Personal Statement: It should include a brief overview of themselves, strengths, and any work experience and/or education that students have.
- ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
