- Launching in Fall 2023, the Master of Public Health (MPH) in General Public Health is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and skills needed to play roles in key public health functions such as assessment, planning, action implementation, and evaluation, in governmental, non-governmental, community-based, and industry settings across sectors and jurisdictions.
- In addition to 30 of core public health courses, you have the opportunity to obtain additional credentials concurrently by taking up to two graduate embedded certificates (GEC), or 15 of competency building electives.
- A Graduate Embedded Certificate is a unique additional graduate credential in current areas of public health practice which are awarded at the time of convocation, along with your MPH degree.
- Full-time students take a minimum of 9 units per term in fall and winter terms. Part-time students take fewer than 9 units per term.
- While students have a maximum of six years to complete this course-based master’s degree, most full-time students can complete the program in 20 months, and most part-time students can complete the program in 36 months.
- The core curriculum and related competencies were designed with one overarching goal in mind: To equip the MPH graduates with knowledge and skills for public health practice.
- All graduate students enrolled in the course-based master of public health (MPH) program offered through the School of Public Health must complete a practicum as part of their degree requirements.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.
- A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the last 2 years (approximately 60 credits) of post-secondary study is required.
- If English is not the student's first language then they must provide proof of English competency.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students require an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with 60% First Class Standing/Division.
- Students may also hold a bachelor's degree of 4 years.
- The GPA required by Indian students is 7.90 in 10 points.
