Accommodation and expenses come to around 700CAD which is not expensive. This can be earned by part-time work.

This university falls under 150 ranks in the world. And Ottawa is not expensive as compared to other cities in Canada.

Better to stay privately rather than university accommodation

I chose this university as I heard from my seniors that the opportunities are good.

Renting an apartment is easy and online. You can confirm your apart before coming here and I advise you do that. It cost $1700-$2000 for a 2 BHK (not in downtown). So if you share a bedroom it will be $500 each. They are private rooms available at $ 600-$700 near the university. If you go far you might also get a private room for $500.

The University of Ottawa is one of the top 10 universities in Canada. There are many good opportunities and also an Indian crowd so you don’t feel lonely in a foreign land.

No, I live off-campus.

The University of Ottawa is a really good university for Civil Engineering. My major is in structural engineering and the university is very well known for that. The course structure is really flexible. Also, there are a lot of choices in courses for structural engineering.

I chose the University of Ottawa's Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in accounting because of the amazing Co-op program they have and I loved the feel of the university and its location. I learned about the school at the Ontario University Fair and then toured it and it totally lived up to my expectations. I only applied to two universities and got into uOttawa a week after I applied with a pretty large scholarship.

I opted for this specific college because it was close to home which means that I was able to still live at home while I attended classes instead of staying in residence. I also chose this school because it seemed like the only way I can still take french classes and keep in touch with my second language

I live in residence off-campus. It is an amazing experience meeting your roommates and making friends through residence events. I did not have a meal plan because it was near $4,500 for the year. One challenge was cooking because the room I had had a kitchenette with just one mini-fridge, microwave, and sink for 4 people.

The school is known as one of the best research institutes and I received an undergraduate research scholarship. It also offered co-op and had many opportunities with the government. The admissions average for my program was also very low for me as I only needed to maintain a 75% in the sciences while I had the 90s. The other schools I apply to, Guelph and Waterloo were a bit more picky with averages.

I lived on campus with a meal plan. A problem I faced was the quality of the food. The meal plan cost $5000 for the year and the food was sub-par. Often food was bland, dry, and they often ran out of bread, bagels, etc. making breakfast difficult. I ended up spending a lot of money eating outside due to this. Other than this, the meal hall was open 24/7 which is very unique and great for studying.

I chose this university because of the amazing city of Ottawa. I have always been a fan of small towns but didn't want to lose the downtown hectic feel of Toronto, and Ottawa has a mixture of both! It has a crazy amount of multiculturalism and people there are extremely nice and supportive of minorities.

I chose the University of Ottawa because they offered a coop program. I also chose this school because I felt that as I wanted to go into account the fact that their business program allowed you to specialize early on was a plus.
