JECC Kerala Facilities Campus Life and Facilities

The JECC Kerala is situated in an amazing area and has a comprehensive infrastructure to ensure overall personal and professional development of students. Cited below are some of the wonderful amenities college has for its ambitious students and teachers.

TATA-JYOTHI IIIC: As becoming a top-class innovation center is one of the most important objectives of JECC Kerala, the college has established an Integrated Industrial Incubation Centre in collaboration with TATA Technologies to make students industry ready by offering them a diversified hi-tech course. And students will gain knowledge of Product Design and Development, Design Engineering, PLM Application Engineering, Product Verification Analysis, Electric Vehicle and Connected Autonomous Vehicle, Electric Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, IIoT Engineering, Advanced Industrial Robotics, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Machine Tool Operator / CNC Operator. Last, but not the least, these futuristic courses will be helpful in offering internships and wonderful job opportunities to students and inculcating all the essential skills in students need to have before joining the corporate world. 

Fablab: With the support of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and Kerala Startup Mission, Jyothi Engineering College has established a mini fabrication laboratory in the campus and these labs are well equipped with essential machinery, tools and consumables of worth INR 50 Lakhs, all of which are imported from USA Fablab.

Computer Center: College has also established Computer Labs to make its students digitally proficient and competent and help faculty members complete their work. And these labs are well-resourced with 210 desktop computers, printers, scanners, LCD projectors and all the systems are connected with two 300 Mbps leased line internet connections and a 20Mbps NMEICT connection. And visiting time of these labs is from 9 AM to 7.30 PM on all weekdays. Apart from this, students and staff members can request for any services via mail and these labs are primarily used for practical and technical training sessions, short-term courses, and national-level workshops for students as well as for online placement and other exams. It is worth to be noted that JECC is authorized to conduct online entrance exams of GATE, JIPMER, CAT COMEDK, Cambridge, RRB, NABARD, ESIC, CUET, Bank Exams and NSEIT etc.

Transportation: As JECC campus is located 30 Kms away from the Thrissur town, hence the college provides transport facility to both students and staff and 20 buses are there to pick up and drop 600 students and staff members from their home to the college and vice-versa.

Canteen: With the intention of serving delicious and hygienic South Indian snacks and food items to students and staff members at an affordable price range, the college has an aesthetically developed canteen where one can find students after classes or during lunch. And this canteen remains open from 8 AM to 5 PM on all working days including Saturdays. Also, 2 coffee shops operate inside the campus to serve coffee and other refreshments drinks to both staff and students.

Auditorium and Seminar Halls: JECC Kerala has established an Auditorium too in 725 sq.m of area and a seating capacity of 1000+ students in the western academic block, to conduct special programs and events. Along with this, the college has fully air-conditioned seminar halls which they call as 'Decennial Hall and Insight Hall' and these halls are fully resourced with modern digital sound systems, LCD projectors and podiums, etc. These halls are primarily used for events and activities like seminars, guest lectures, cultural activities and staff meetings, etc.

Technology Business Incubator: For the purpose of fostering the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship in college, JECC has started a wonderful initiative called TBI whose main objective is to transform students and faculties’ Science and Engineering related ideas into products, processes and services for commercial exploitation and for the benefit of society. And at present, through TBI students and teachers are exploring areas such as Information and Communication Technologies, VLSI, embedded systems, Instrumentation, energy, mechatronics and robotics.

Fitness Center: JECC also has a fitness center and gym with all the modern equipment including bench press, pec deck, bicep curl, lateral pulley and body twister machines and expert trainers to train students and staff members and keep them physically fit and healthy because college believes in the fact that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Girls and boys can visit this gym from 6-7:30 AM in the morning and 4:45 -6:30 PM in the evening.

Chapel: For the purpose of satisfying the spiritual and prayer-related needs of students, JECC has a cathedral on the 3rd floor of the administrative block and the college regularly motivates students to spend some time here. In addition to this, Mass is celebrated every day in this Chapel for hostlers and for the catholic students and staff on the first Friday of the month in the College Auditorium. 

Sports Facilities: JECC Kerala has big playgrounds for students to play outdoor games like Volleyball and Basketball and Table Tennis is also there for them. Additionally, the college has a 200m track for running events and standard long jump pit for jumps and enough area for conducting Throws.

Language Lab: Last but not the least, JECC has a language lab with all the required audio-visual facilities to expose the students to the language of the native english speaker by using the software ORELL. And using this software, students can even enhance their interview skills, vocabulary and communication skills.
