Thadomal Shahani Engineering College was established in 1983 by the Hyderabad National Collegiate Board (HSNC), a charitable trust run by the Sindhi community.
The college is affiliated by the University of Mumbai and offers a number of engineering programs to its prospective students.
- The college currently offers only Bachelor of Engineering degree courses but the students have the option to choose from a number of options.
- Prospective students need at least 50% marks in the intermediate level in the 10+2 level or a relevant technology diploma with 45% marks to apply in the UG programs run by the college.
- The admission to all programs are based on merit and students must secure a rank in the MHT-CET exam to be considered for the merit list of TSEC.

Eligibility
- Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies , and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together. OR

Selection Criteria
All students are required to appear in all subjects of MHT-CET and obtain a non-zero positive score in the exam. Candidates from states other than Maharashtra need to appear in THE JEE Main exam and secure a non-zero positive score in the Paper I of the exam.
Most seats of the TSEC will be filled strictly based on the performance of the students in the entrance examination.
First preference will be given to the students coming from schools and who have a valid MHT-CET score. Seats will be allotted to students based on their Inter-Se Merit.
If seats remain vacant, candidates with a diploma will be offered seats based on their Inter-Se in MHT-CET. If seats still remain vacant, students with Bachelor of Science degrees will be offered seats based on their performance in the CET exam.
In extraordinary situations, if seats still remain vacant, candidates with a valid score in the Paper-I of JEE Main will be considered for admission.
