XLRI PGDM is a two-year full-time flagship PGDM programme in General Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM). The leading institute also has an 18-month PGDM programme in General Management (GM). XLRI Academic Sessions will begin in June.

XLRI PGDM Fees Structure 

XLRI course fee for 2 year full time programmes is mentioned as under:

• XLRI PGDM Fee Structure includes tuition fees, study material costs, computers, alumni activity costs, library fees, etc. 
• The course fees don’t include hostel and mess charges and will be charged extra as applicable for students.

XLRI PGDM Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission at XLRI Jamshedpur to the PGDM course with BM (Business Management) or HRM (Human Resource Management) as specialization, must hold a UG Degree of three years in the relevant discipline, from a recognized University. The selection of the candidates is based on the marks/ranking obtained in the XAT or GMAT examination. It is followed by Group Discussion and a Personal Interview to be undertaken by the students. However, the aspirants are required to have full-time job experience, in order to get admission to the course.

Candidates applying for the PGDM course under General Management specialization, which is a 1-year diploma course, must hold a UG Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University. However, the aspirants must have a 5 years’ work experience as well. The final selection is based on the performance in the group discussion and personal interview taken up by the selected candidates. XLRI PGDM Admission 

Admission to the courses offered by the institution is based on the entrance examination as well as the merit of the students. The registration process could be done in two processes namely: XAT Application and XLRI Application. 

For registering via XAT Application, the steps are:

• The aspirants must visit the official website of the institution, where all the required and professional details are to be filled in. 
• After filling up all the details, one must upload the scan copy of their photo along with their signature.
• Select the desired program as per the student’s choice and select the XAT Test City where the candidate prefers to take up the XAT Test. 
• Once done, take a print out of the entire application form.

Likewise, for registering via XLRI Application, the steps are:

• Candidates are supposed to register online and select their preferred program.
• Followed by which, a login id and password will be mailed to the applicants.
• Once the login id and password are received, the candidates need to log in to make the payment of the fees.
• Then, the candidates need to complete the rest of the application process which includes – uploading a recent colored passport sized photograph along with all the necessary details which have been asked for.

XLRI PGDM Course Structure

The XLRI PGDM courses are designed to develop - the analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities, the awareness of the socio-economic environment, and the personality with socially desirable values and attitudes. To fulfill these objectives and to suit the contents of each course, numerous teaching methodologies, such as case studies, role-play, problem solving exercises, group discussion, computer simulation games, audio-visuals, etc. are used in the programme.

The PGDM programme requirements at XLRI Jamshedpur include 105 credits including 63 credits from core courses and 42 credits from elective courses, a Summer Project, and compulsory participation in Team Building and Village Exposure Programmes.

 (1) Summer Project – a Non-credit Course Summer Project is a compulsory non-credit course. A student is required to do a summer project on any aspect of Business Management in the industry for eight to ten weeks at the end of the first year (April - June). 

(2) Team Building and Village Exposure Programmes – a Non-credit A three-day team building programme is compulsory for the students. The objective of the programme is to develop leadership and teamwork through adventure activities (The programme includes overnight camping in tents.) A village exposure programme is also mandatory for the students. The students are expected to stay in the villages. They are expected to study some of the practices and issues relating to rural India.

Each full credit course comprising 3 Credits constitutes a total of 30 contact hours and is organized during a Term of 10 to 12 weeks. The courses are offered in the following areas:
