Ph.D. (Computer Engineering) From VIT Pune, Pune

Persons having passed the Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) as per UGC / AICTE 10-point grading system or any other system accepted by AICTE / UGC / AIU for equivalent for grades /award of class.

Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 55% marks will be the condition for getting a fellowship scholarship as per the norm of B+ as stated by UGC.

A 5 % relaxation in the required percentage of marks will be given to the students of the State of Maharashtra belonging to SC/ST/DT/NT/SBC/OBC categories.

Persons working in National Laboratories/Institutes/Government/Private Organizations nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should have a Post Graduate Degree with 55 % or equivalent and hold a rank of Assistant Director or above or equivalent as per the norms of the Govt. of Maharashtra, and UGC.

Above mentioned rules will also be applicable to foreign candidates who have obtained a Master's Degree from any recognized Indian University. Admissions of foreign candidates have to be approved by the International Centre of affiliating University, SPPU, Pune

Persons will have exceptional abilities having passed the graduate degree examination with 50% of marks and with 15 years of experience after graduation in the related field. However, candidates possessing B.E. / B. Tech. Degree in the faculty of Engineering / Science and Technology shall also have patents/ intellectual property rights registered in their names. In such cases, exceptional abilities will be decided by the Research and Recognition Committee of the Institute and approved by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

Senior citizen of 60 years and above, with a Master’s Degree. In exceptional cases, the eligibility for senior citizens shall be at the discretion of the Director Of the Institute

A Graduate in any Faculty who has developed important new technology (new for The country) or designed and fabricated special instruments or apparatus which are deemed by the competent judge to be a valuable contribution to the field of Engineering and pharmacy, may be permitted by the Research and recognition committee of the faculty concerned, on the recommendation of appropriate Board or Board of studies to submit his/her thesis for the Ph.D. Degree in that Faculty. Such a candidate must have at least 5 years standing as a Batchelor of the Engineering/ Technology

The percentage of marks required for admission of foreign candidates (those who have not obtained a Master’s degree from Indian Universities) will be 50 % or equivalent GPA at the Master’s degree level. In this case, University must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities( AIU)

Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET}: The entrance Examination will be normally conducted twice a year. The PET will be conducted either in ONLINE (PROCTORED) and/or OFFLINE mode

The Institute offers a program of a minimum of three years for full-time candidates and part-time candidates. The maximum period allowed for full-time candidates and part-time external candidates is seven years

Fees structure:-

• Submission of the synopsis – Rs 1000 (if candidates continue coursework in 2^nd year)
• Submission of thesis – Rs 8000 (if candidates continue coursework in 2^nd year)
• Viva voce – Rs 5000 (if candidates continue coursework in 2^nd year)
• Postal charges – Rs 1500

Total – Rs 15500 (One-time fee will be paid to SPPU at the time of final submission)

Rs 5000 – is required to pay at the research center ( from the 2^nd year onwards up to the 5^th year)

Total fees for PhD program for 6^th & 7th-year (if applicable) – Rs 50000

Note:-

• Rs 2500 for outside India
• If Re-registration is granted, the candidate is required to pay double the Ph.D. program fee as above to the research center.
