National Institute of Fashion Technology, Srinagar campus is one of the top fashion design institutes in the country running under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. Established in the year 1995, NIFT Srinagar is one of the 16 NIFTs located in various parts of the country. The campus is located in a Badgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
NIFT Srinagar campus offers Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) programs with specializations in Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. The intake capacity for the program is 60 with 30 seats per specialization. The courses are recognized by the Government of India.

- During selection of candidates for the B.Des. programs, 50% weightage is given to CAT score, 30% to GAT score and the remaining 20% to the Situation Test score.
- Applicants must possess basic computing knowledge and skill as applied to the operating system, word processing, text editing, spreadsheet, database application, presentation as well as net surfing abilities.
- Candidates having Common Merit Rank (CMR) and falling under “ Children/Wards of NRI” category will be given an opportunity to opt for NRI seat subject to fulfilling the criteria, submission of necessary documents.
- In case of equal entrance test scores of two candidates, the older candidate (as per date of birth) will be given preference.
- Candidates seeking provisional admission due to non-declaration of their final year/final semester/12th class result must provide proof of having passed all papers in all the previous years/ semesters of qualifying degree exam.
- NRI candidates fulfilling the admission criteria as specified in the information brochure may apply online with a requisite application fee of US$100 through the Online NIFT Payment gateway.
- Candidates must apply online for admission in this college. The application fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category candidates is INR 1,500 whereas SC/ ST/ PHP category candidates need to pay INR 750 only.

NIFT Srinagar B.Des. Admission 2023
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar campus offers undergraduate level degree courses in the fields of Design and Fashion Technology. The campus currently offers a Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program with specializations in Fashion Design and Fashion Communication.
The basic eligibility criteria for the B. Des. program is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board. Those qualifying a General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible to apply.
Candidates applying for the B. Des. program qualify a written entrance test. Those who qualify the entrance test must further qualify Situation Test, which is a hands-on test to evaluate the candidate's skills for material handling and innovative ability.

Key Points:
- Foreign candidates must qualify board/ university examination (as equivalent to the 10+2 system) that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities in order to be eligible.
- Candidates who possess 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply.
- The medium of instruction at NIFT is English and hence, all aspirants applying to NIFT must possess the working knowledge of English language.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar campus accepts applications from eligible candidates through a centralized application process which is common for all campuses. The detailed application process for the same is as follows:
- Prospective candidates may apply online by visiting the institute website.
- It is advisable for the candidate to ensure eligibility and go through the guidelines before filling the online application form. The prospectus is available for free downloaded at the NIFT official website.
- All requisite information in the application form must be entered correctly. Candidates must also enter correct personal details such as name, contact information etc. for communication purpose.
- The Application Fee can be paid through online payment gateway via credit/ debit card, or offline through a Bank Demand Draft.
- The application fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category candidates is INR 1,500. SC/ ST/ PHP category candidates need to pay INR 750 only.
- Candidates wishing to pay the application fee through demand draft must obtain the draft prior to filling the application form, and also must furnish details of the DD in the online application form.

NIFT Srinagar Scholarship
NIFT Srinagar campus currently offers the following scholarship schemes to eligible and meritorious candidates for assistance in pursuing their studies from NIFT:
Educational Loan
NIFT has tie-up with the Union Bank of India (UBI) for Student Education Loans at a special rate of interest of 11.75%. The rate of interest is 11.25% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category. Girl students also enjoy a rate of interest of 11.25%. The students can approach any Branch of UBI across the country with proof of clearing the NIFT entrance test to avail the facility.
NIFT Means – cum – Merit Financial Assistance Scheme
NIFT offers limited subsidies to meritorious students who are in need of financial assistance as per the provisions made in Means-cum-Merit Financial Assistance Scheme. Students who are interested in availing this facility should submit their application along with parental income certificate and contact the Student Development Activity Coordinator (SDAC) at their campus after admission.
Assistantship Program
NIFT also offers assistance through a Student Assistantship Program on campus. This gives the students part-time employment within the institute.
