Ans. Students of the Diploma Course in Engineering are expected to spend half a day per week at the PSG Industrial School, a fully fledged manufacturing field. In addition, a large number of projects, which the students undertake, are in collaboration with various engineering industries in and around Coimbatore, including PSG industrial institute to meet the real world challenges of industry. The college is well equipped with laboratories and separate departmental libraries. The departments which lay a strong foundation for students are nurtured by highly qualified faculty. The Department conducts courses for the Entrepreneurs and serving engineers to make them acquire the latest technical and production skills. The members of faculty actively participate in Seminars, Conferences and also attend Winter and Summer Schools. PSG Polytechnic College has a student strength of nearly 1500.

Ques. What is the duration for Diploma ?

Ans. The polytechnic course diploma is 3 years in duration while the sandwich course is for 4 years. Each semester is 6 months and you are taught both theory and practical subjects. Exam will have a different theory and practical at the end of every semester.

Ques. What is the difference between Engineering and Polytechnic ?

Ans. Diploma Engineering means the diploma is three years while the engineering is four years. The entrance examination which is taken for admission to the diploma course has low competition, whereas the entrance examination to engineering is very competitive. Under the diploma, you get a prior knowledge of your subject while you get a comprehensive knowledge of the same field in engineering. One can work on the Junior Engineer post after earning a diploma and can work on the Engineer post after engineering.

Ans. All your career options are open after you take the Diploma in Engineering course. There are two important choices to choose to pursue further studies or start working. One can work in different fields in different roles, whether it is a government job or a private field job according to their knowledge. If one plans to pursue engineering, then one can get admission in engineering in the branch related polytechnic degree through the lateral entry in the second year. Admission:

I had applied through the All India Counselling and the Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling. The top 5 Government colleges in my state required me to get even better marks in my NEET - UG examination. This college was one of the best in the state and was on par with various other national-level medical colleges. This college provides one of the best hands-on experiences as well. 2017 was the first time NEET-UG was introduced. Hence, the category cutoffs were comparatively low around 350 on 720. The admission experience was smooth with an easy onboarding.
