NIFT Mumbai Admission 2024: Courses, Fees, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Criteria, Application Process

The college offers B.Des in the UG domain. The duration of the course is 4 years. The eligibility criteria, selection criteria and number of seats are mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates who have completed 10+2 from any recognized board or 10+3 (Diploma) from any recognized college are eligible to apply.
• The candidates maximum age should be 23 years.

Selection Criteria

• Selection of students is based on the marks scored by the candidate in entrance exams such as GAT and CAT.
• Qualified candidates are then required to appear for a situation test and further counselling.

The college offers afour year full time uG course of B.FTech. The Eligibility, Selection criteria and number of seats are mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria 

• Maximum age should be 23 years as on October 1, 2023. The upper age limit may be extended by a period of 5 years for candidates of SC / ST / Differently abled.
• The candidates must have completed 10+2 or any equivalent examination from any recognized board.

Selection Criteria 

• Candidates will have to appear for a studio test + personal interview and verification of documents/eligibility at the NIFT Campus opted by them. The studio test is designed to test the knowledge and skill aptitude of the candidate for the program opted (CAT + GAT) with negative marking. 
• Entry to the Examination Centre will be allowed with Admit Card only. 
• Based on the suitability of skill, allocation of the course and campus in order of Merit and preference will be given.

The college offers a two year full time PG course of M.Des. The Eligibility, Selection criteria and number of seats are mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates must have completed B.Des or any other equivalent degree from NIFT or any other recognized college.
• They must appear for NIFT entrance exams.

Selection Criteria

• The candidates first have to appear for GAT and CAT conducted by the college.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview based on marks obtained in the exams mentioned above.
• Final selection is made on the aggregate marks and weightage given to above-mentioned parameters is as follows:
  • Creative Ability Test (CAT): 40%
  • General Ability Test (GAT): 30%
  • Group Discussion and Personal Interview: 30%

The college offers a two year full time PG course of MFM (Master of Fashion Management).

Eligibility Criteria

• For M.FM, the candidates who have completed undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India OR Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID are eligible.
• They must appear for NIFT entrance exams.

Selection Criteria

• The selection process comprises a written examination comprising a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.
• Admissions for foreign nationals will be made on the basis of score obtained in GMAT.
• There is no age limit for applying to a PG course.
