Yes, PGIMS Rohtak has a Two Year Service Bond under which you are required to serve in Government Hospitals of Haryana after completing your MBBS and One Year Compulsory Rotatory Internship.

This bond applies to all those medical students who get admission in Govt. Medical Colleges of Haryana through 85% State Quota in the year 2017. Students who fail to fulfill the service bond, have to pay 25 lakhs INR to the state govt.

The only way to avoid the bond is to get admission via all-India counseling instead of state counseling.

I fail to understand why you are even considering a drop year when you can get into the most reputed medical college in India, PGIMS Rohtak. It is second second-best college in Haryana and its Mecial ranking by NIRF was 49 out of 50 in India 2023. It is a reputable medical college in India, and getting a seat there is a great achievement.

The institute boasts of excellent placements and being a government college it has several advantages too. My friend was a gold medalist at PGIMS and is currently a doctor at AIIMS Delhi. His career is in full bloom and half the year he is outside India attending conferences.

So, taking a drop year when you have the option of joining PGIM SRohtak is not wise at all. 

The daily routine at PGIMS Rohtak depends on the ongoing events, class schedule, class tests, and your interests. One of my close friends shared his routine as a 1st year MBBS student at PGIMS Rohtak

His day began around 6 in the morning. He liked jogging for about 45 minutes in the huge playground after which he would go for Babubhai's tea. 

He would take a bath by 7:30 AM and then have tea again in the mess.

By 8:00 AM he would get ready for college and head to the mess for breakfast. After breakfast, he would reach the college at 8:50 AM. Sometimes the ECE Physiology classes start at 8:00 AM so the mess starts at 7:00 AM.

The duration of the first batch of classes is 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Usually, the following schedule is followed 

• Physiology classes on Monday
• Biochemistry classes on Wednesday & Friday 
• Histology classes on Thursday
• Dissection Hall on other days

From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 2 lectures each of 1 hour mostly of Anatomy and Physiology or Biochemistry take place. 

The lunch break starts from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The food served is delicious. 

Next, a practical class of either Anatomy or Physiology or AETCOM takes place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The class schedule also keeps changing but you got the idea.

4 p.m. marks the end of the day for the students. You can do whatever you want. Some students like to visit the market to buy groceries while some prefer sleeping. Some play sports while some bookworms spend their time in the library. Dinner is served around 8:00 PM after which students head to their rooms. This pretty much sums up my daily routine at PGIMS Rohtak.

One of my friends chose to pursue medicine from PGIMS Rohtak. The academic ambiance and the passion of the students here motivated him a lot. He felt like the college had become his second home. He learned many new things every day. He enjoyed studying Anatomy and the Art of dissection although he struggled initially. He was always regular to the lectures. 

He feels extremely lucky to be a part of PGIMS Rohtak which brought him one step closer to his dream. 

Life at PGIMS Rohtak is a great experience, both academically and socially. Along with their studies, students have a variety of extracurricular activities to choose from, such as sports teams, clubs, and organizations. These activities offer opportunities for students to pursue their interests, make new friends, and develop leadership skills. Additionally, the university has a vibrant cultural scene, with regular events and performances for students to enjoy. Every city and college has its own unique ambiance which you must be ready to be a part of to enjoy your time to the fullest. Rather than being prejudiced, it's better to adjust yourself sooner. 

PGIMS Rohtak is one of the best North Indian medical colleges second only to New Delhi colleges. The institute may not provide a very vibrant nightlife but the living conditions will be better than most 2nd tier cities of India. There are enough nonveg options here and many places to explore with your friends. Students love spending their evenings at D Park and enjoying parathe at Kharawar.

Overall, PGIMS Rohtak provides a well-rounded educational experience for its students.

AIIMS Rishikesh is looked after by the central government, which is another advantage over PGIMS Rohtak, which is a state medical college.

A medical college plays no role in your USMLE preparation. You have to chalk out the resources that work best for you and study with dedication. Focusing on your basics is important for your USMLE. 

As far as PGIMS Rohtak is concerned, it is a reputed medical college. Students from this college have cleared their USMLE in the past. You’ll get good mentors at PGIMS. 

But even students from lesser-known colleges clear their USMLE and secure a residency in the US. Some don’t even have any seniors for guidance. However, even without good mentors, the internet is always at one's disposal. 

So basically, your effort alone will decide your USMLE success or failure. 

PGIMS Rohtak is the best government medical college in Haryana. It is highly reputed. Not just Haryana, it is one of the top medical colleges in Northern India.

In 2016, through 15% AIQ counseling, the cut-off rank stood at 1004 for UR (AIQR). In the state counseling, the cutoff score was 531 and the cutoff rank was 215, for UR. 

PGIMS is a highly esteemed college and a good choice for an MBBS degree.
