Tuition Fees
Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) does not charge tuition fees. The students must only pay a semester contribution fee of about $401 per semester. This fee includes free use of public transport in North-Rhine Westphalia, and reduced prices for food and beverages in the cafeteria (Mensa) and canteens.
This degree program is unique, because practical courses make up almost fifty percent of the biochemistry degree, and, choosing their own research focus, biochemists carry out up-to-date research projects that prepare them for future careers in life-science research and life-science professions.
This course provides the opportunity to specialize in the following fields:
- Membrane and Nervous System Biochemistry
- Biomolecular Chemistry
- Molecular Medicine
- Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of Plants and Microorganisms
- Proteins in Biomedicine
- Molecular Biochemistry of Stem Cells
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- A Bachelor (B.Sc.) or comparable degree in the following disciplines:
- Biochemistry, B.Sc.
- Life Science Bachelor’s degrees
- All applicants must have obtained at least 60 Credit Points (in addition to the Bachelor's thesis) in laboratory practicals during their BSc studies
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must have sufficient knowledge of English and be able to prove it when applying.
International students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
