Tuition Fees

Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) does not charge tuition fees. The students must only pay a semester contribution fee of about $401 per semester. This fee includes free use of public transport in North-Rhine Westphalia, and reduced prices for food and beverages in the cafeteria (Mensa) and canteens.


Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students who apply for the Master of Science program must have a Bachelor (or comparable) degree in either:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Information Engineering
    • Communication Technology
    • related subjects

Indian Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students must have sufficient knowledge of German and be able to prove it when applying. Only certain language certificates are accepted by the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
  • Language certificates accepted by the Ruhr-University:
    • TestDaF with at least 16 points within one examination
    • DSH (level 2 or 3)
    • Deutsches Sprachdiplom - DSD - II
    • ZOP or Goethe-Zertifikat C2 of the Goethe-Institut
    • KDS or GDS of the Goethe-Institut
    • ÖSD-Sprachdiplom C1
    • telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
    • Feststellungsprüfung (examination part German)
