Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mechanical Engineering)
Field of Study:
In semesters 1 to 4 students will learn the fundamentals of mathematics, technical mechanics, material science, and thermodynamics. Students acquire profound broad and deep knowledge in nature and engineering science and competencies to apply scientific methods. Afterwards, in semesters 5 and 6, students create their own study plan and can choose a specialization (e. g. medical engineering, robotics, automotive engineering, energy technology, management, aviation) or deepen their engineering scientific expertise intersectional.
Tuition Fees
There is zero tuition fees for all students at TUM. However, all the students are entitled to pay a semester fee of 152.0€ ( 156 USD) which includes Student Union fees and the basic semester ticket for public transportation in Munich.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- Students require official transcripts of high school from where they have completed his/her schooling.
- Language Proficiency Test Certificates: German Proficiency Test and English Proficiency Test.

To apply for the MS Automotive Engineering program of TUM, you must have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university. You must demonstrate proficiency in English through a recognized language test such as TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent. Submission of GRE score is necessary for admission in this program.
To apply for the Master in Renewable Energy program of TUM you must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, natural sciences, or mathematics, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Along with this you must also have a valid ELP test score. GRE score is not optional but preferred.
