- Interest in natural science questions in combination with agricultural production systems, natural and environmental topics, and related current issues
- Technical and analytic understand and willingness to look at things within their system or their dependency relationships and work with abstract models
- Scientific curiosity, efficient learning techniques, ability to quickly grasp concepts, and the ability to think in networks
- English proficiency is required
