What latest program are you offering in your department to help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

"We are offering courses related to programming languages and software development"

We believe that only inculcating theoretical knowledge is not sufficient as per demands of today's digital world. Hence we are offering various courses on the latest technologies to enhance the skills of our students and make them ready for the corporate world. Below mentioned are those courses we are providing to students of our department:

  • Course on Electric Vehicles
  • Minor degree course in Software Engineering Robotics & Automation
  • Coding skills course
  • Python Programming
  • Course on Matlab

Which factors make these programs the best for the students to opt?

"Unlimited job opportunities associated with each course makes them unique"

All the new programs we are offering at our department level have enormous job opportunities and career growth associated with them and students will definitely have a bright future after successfully finishing them from our institute.

What are some of the best practices of these courses that you are offering to students?

"We conduct events for them, assign projects and assist students queries on individual basis"

We regularly organize events like webinars on the latest technologies to keep our students updated with the latest happenings of the industrial world. We also assign different types of mini-major projects on topics related to Matlab, PSpice and IoT along with asking them to present their projects through a paper presentation. This helps them in two ways, firstly it utilizes their skills and enhances their communication and team building skills. Apart from this, we regularly interact with them to monitor their performance and provide academic guidance as and when required and special attention is given to slow learners here in the institute.

How do these programs ensure the future preparedness of students?

"Through apprenticeships and rigorous training programs, we make our students future ready"

Our college offers internships to them in different industries to give them a better understanding of how exactly industries work, about their culture and expectations from freshly graduates. In addition to this, classes on technical writing are also arranged for them in emerging areas like machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotics, networking, electrical vehicles and electrical system design. Lastly, we give training on programming languages like Java and Python together with aptitude training.

How do you train your faculty to deliver these programs to the students?

"Through FDPs, UHV programs and MOOC courses"

Faculty are encouraged to join the Faculty Development Programmes in emerging areas. And they also have access to the Universal Human Values (UHV) Programme which are usually conducted by AICTE. Doing MOOC Courses in different subjects, attending different workshops, seminars, webinars to directly interact with industry people are some of the other approaches faculty use to keep them updated.

How do you build an industry connectedness with these programs?

"By organizing technical talks and suitable training programs for students"

To build an industry connectedness, we conduct technical talks by inviting Industry experts to share their experiences and expectations with us and our students also get a chance to directly interact with them to clear their doubts and queries. We have also signed MOUs with our Industry partners in order to train our students in the best possible way.

Which challenges did you face while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

"Adjusting time to arrange lecture separately for these programs and financial issues were there"

There were challenges at every level while we were inculcating the programs into our curriculum but the one worth remembering was to find a suitable time span for conducting this program along with the regular classes. And also the cost of providing these programs to students is high, hence budget was another constraint for us.

On which kind of projects students are currently working on through these programs?

"They are working on numerous diverse projects"

Our final year students are doing projects on topics like charging techniques, charging stations, braking systems and hybrid vehicles etc.
