What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
“Best leaders are the best learners”
Being an educationist, I would say that the best leader is the best learner and the learning ability of a great leader never dies. I have been in this profession for more than 25 years. I firmly believe that a good principal creates a healthy atmosphere and removes obstacles in the path of the organization’s mission. The conducive environment enables teachers to perform excellently in academics; in turn, it results in high-quality engineers.
The Institute's vision of creating high-class engineers is the main motto of my leadership. As the head of the institution, I always welcome discussion among faculty members for the improvement of the quality of education. As a leader, I encourage my fellows to work in cooperation, be enthusiastic to perform the work and have the determination to achieve the targets.
How does the curriculum of MLV TEXTILE & ENGINEERING COLLEGE ensure the best practice of industry?
“We make sure to bring in timely changes wherever possible”
The course curriculum of College is although rigid but revised periodically with little flexibility. The course curriculum includes industrial training and industry-based live projects, which provides industrial exposure, acceptable hands-on practices, knowledge for the latest technologies used in industries and ability for research work in technology.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the institute and the students are?
“It is essential to provide an ambient environment for students to prosper”
The critical responsibility as an administrator is to lay down the exact path for the fellows to align with the vision and mission of the institute. Also, to create a conducive and friendly environment for faculty and staff members, where they feel motivated and work in a cooperative spirit to meet the expectations of all stakeholders.

What do you see as MLV TEXTILE & ENGINEERING COLLEGE’s greatest strengths?
“The faculty and staff members, as well as alumni, are the greatest strength of MLVTEC”
We have highly experienced faculties with the right academic credentials. Thirty-five batches have passed out from the College amounting 5000 alumni. They are well established and working in India and abroad at various top positions. They are strongly connected to College through TEAM (Thriving Engineers’ Alumni of MLVTEC) and committed to supporting the College in multiple ways, in terms of placements, industrial training, scholarships, expert lectures, industry-institute-interaction etc.
What do you think should be the institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?
“Our aim is to become a premier institute of future”
The institute has achieved many milestones since its inception and has gained a good reputation nationwide. The top priority of the institute over the next ten years is to develop good recognition in India and abroad. The College has signed MoU with universities of international repute and MNCs for collaborative research work to gain international recognition which are put forward for effective execution in the interest of students.
What are your thoughts about the education system in India?
“There is an urgent necessity to bring transformation in the education system”
Education System in our country is more teacher-centric in nature and based on a rigid curriculum barring the institutions of national importance. With the impact of the existing system, a small packet of students are getting Omni-dimensional knowledge. Still, a large number of students are chasing for marks instead of getting up to date practical experience required for being future-ready produce equipped with universal human values.
What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for MLV TEXTILE & ENGINEERING COLLEGE specifically?
“There is a need of quality teaching faculties in the higher education”
The biggest challenge is the lack of competent and highly motivated teaching faculties in higher education, who are supposed to be the backbone of any education system. In the context of MLVTEC, a declining interest trend in the student community towards STEM education. I am a firm believer of the thought that a flexible and student-centric education system always leads to quality products equipped with desired competence. Every educational institution must focus on enhancing the competence level through more activity-based activities that can add to the ease of living of humankind.

Any insights into how your institute is working towards ensuring a clean and sanitized environment for students especially during this pandemic situation?
“We are following all the guidelines and adhering to the norms”
MLVTEC has always been following the culture of the green and clean campus. MLVTEC’s faculty, supporting staff and students still maintain this culture on the campus. In the present pandemic situation, the College is upholding extra precautions, such as campus sanitization, restricted entries with thermal scanning, frequent hand sanitization, maintaining six feet distance during work etc. Also, we are strictly following the policy of No Mask No Entry. We are holding the academic quality of students by conducting online classes, taking virtual labs, conducting online examinations/tests, and making one to one interaction with the students as a mentor in this pandemic situation.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“Students should explore as much as they can”
My suggestion to the youth and aspiring students is to compete with them and explore with the right understanding and sustain desired competence. They must prepare themselves to contribute to meeting the sustainable development goals of the country in a broader spectrum.
