Being the Director of the college, what is your philosophy of leadership?

In my opinion, a leader should follow a collaborative leadership approach to ensure that the organization keeps thriving. Instead of working in silos, We at JIMS try to involve all the stakeholders in decision making process and functioning of the Institution. A great leader is the one who understands his colleagues requirement and treats other the way they like to be treated. We firmly believe this approach fosters a sense of unity and teamwork making goals more easily achievable.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of industry?

We redefine our course modules annually making them relevant for the students. Our curriculum is designed after taking insights from industry experts, faculty, and alumni already working in the industry. The curriculum equips the students to work across multiple industries and functions such as consultancy, analytics, FMCG, Telecom, E Commerce, Retail, etc and take on challenges of the industry.

How is your institute more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

At JIMS, we embrace a diverse environment. We offer admissions to students from all cultural and economic backgrounds. What are your responsibilities for the institute and students?

We focus on creating an environment of knowledge, creativity, learning and adaptability to keep pace with Industry standards.

However, with the passing of years, management education has evolved and plays a key role in the development of the economy. Keeping this in view, my vision has also shifted to focus on imparting industry-based and research-driven knowledge to the students instilling value based culture and a sense of social responsibility.

What are the greatest strengths of your college?

Our greatest strength is that we provide boundless career possibilities to the students enrolled in our programs by focusing on not just academic excellence but we inspire our students to engage with society and address not just business challenges but also the problem our world is facing. We make students contribute to the betterment of society which flows from our vision..

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

I believe challenges are the biggest opportunities for growth. The businesses are constantly evolving and to make our students ready for the real world, we need to keep pace with such advances. However, when we see our students getting placed with top companies, all our hard work comes to fruition and our challenges turn into achievements.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

Millennials focus more on achieving everything instantly. I think it’s good to strive for excellence, but the growth should be sustainable even if the pace is slow. Resilience and hard work definitely would lead to success.
