“Journey towards success is a culmination of ups and down”, says Dr. D.M. Adhyaru

Dr. Dipak M Adhyaru is currently designated as Head of Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department at Nirma University. His educational qualifications include B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He has immense experience of 20 years of teaching as a professor and has 3 years of industrial experience as well. Having authored a book on Robust Control, Dr. Adhyaru has published his research papers in more than 25 international journals also. He has carried out many training programmes for industries and academia in the field of Instrumentation and Control engineering.

Philosophy and Style of Leadership

I believe that being a leader is a privilege because it carries a responsibility to inspire others, and to direct them to attain the vision and goals of the University. I feel that empowering others to make decisions is essential to develop them into a good future leaders. Working at this position, I want every individual in the department to feel proud of what they do and understand how their job contributes to the overall growth of the department.

Our curriculum is designed as per the needs of the industries. Not only that, but steps are also taken to develop the individual as per the demand of the industries and make the professions fit for the challenges of the real time.

How Dr. Adhyaru makes himself available for students

At Nirma University, we maintain a student-friendly environment which in turn helps us in making strong bonding with our students. During office hours, we remain available to every student for their problems and try to provide them with solutions, wherever possible. We remain available to the students through social media, phone, and emails as well. We counsel our students to face the challenges and come out shining in their lives.

Goals for the Department

Instrumentation and Control engineering is an interdisciplinary branch which deals with the automation of industries. In the next few years, I want the department to become a leading hub which will provide Automation solutions to the industries. With this, I want that my students are capable enough to work in the Industrial environment from day one of their jobs.
